Wellness Services

Tammy uses a variety of soft tissue techniques to relieve your pain. She has adapted her innovative approach, used with upper extremity disorders, for use on other parts of the body and is currently having great success in alleviating chronic back pain in individuals...even those who have had failed traditional physical therapy treatment and multiple epidural injections.

Kinesiology Taping

Involves the application of an elastic tape on a painful area of the body to help decrease pain and edema, which may help promote improved range of motion.

Tuning ForkSound Healing

Uses weighted tuning forks on the physical body, or unweighted tuning forks on the energetic body, to help decrease muscle tension and swelling, help decrease pain, and help unblock barriers to energy flow.

Myofascial Decompression (Cupping)

Uses silicone or plastic cups to create a vacuum on the soft tissues, which helps lift and decompress congested, painful tissues, and helps to restore flexibility and decrease pain.

Wellness Mini Sessions

These 30 minute sessions are designed to focus on ONE area of concern for you. Maybe you have an old injury and still have some stiffness...maybe you want to improve your flexibility for your favorite sport...maybe you have a chronic pain that no prior treatment has been able to help...LET'S TALK!
Many people are living life with a nagging ache or pain...nothing bad enough to keep you from performing your daily activities, but let's face it...who wants to deal with a nagging pain or flexibility issue. Maybe you only have a twinge of pain during your golf swing...LET'S TALK.
These 30 minute sessions may use a variety of approaches, including myofascial decompression (cupping), dry needling, IASTM, myofascial release, and/or kinesiology taping...as deemed appropriate by the practitioner.
*To be eligible for this service you must NOT be under a physician's care for the area you want addressed*
**This service is NOT eligible for mobile services**

Lymphatic Drainage Sessions

These 60 minute sessions focus on what could easily be the most overlooked system in your body...the lymphatic system. Dr. Andreas Moritz has said "Rarely is there a disease which is not due to lymphatic obstruction."
Hands-on techniques are used to stimulate and activate the lymph nodes at various points on your body. This helps "unclog" the various drainage points in the body, helping fluids to move more effectively. Stagnation can lead to illness and disease.
Sessions typically also utilize vagus nerve work to help stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which in turn promotes relaxation of the body's tissues to improve the lymphatic drainage work.

*To be eligible for this service you must NOT have any active cancer, kidney failure, liver failure, or uncontrolled congestive heart failure*
Sessions are offered at the Angel Oak office in Connersville, IN. If you don't live locally, consider a Zoom session with Tammy. She can talk you through the process while you perform the hands-on lymphatic drainage technique on yourself.
**This service is also eligible for mobile services at a premium fee (call or text to discuss, as your location may impact cost)**

Occupational/Hand Therapy Services

According to the Hand Therapy Certification Commission, the Definition of Hand Therapy is: "Hand therapy is the art and science of rehabilitation of the upper limb, which includes the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder girdle. It is a merging of occupational and physical therapy theory and practice that combines comprehensive knowledge of the structure of the upper limb with function and activity. Using specialized skills in assessment, planning and treatment, hand therapists provide therapeutic interventions to prevent dysfunction, restore function and/or reverse the progression of pathology of the upper limb in order to enhance an individual’s ability to execute tasks and to participate fully in life situations."

3 Year history of chronic low back and left-sided body pain after a stroke

"After suffering from chronic pain for 3 years, I found relief from an occupational therapist, Tammy McKee. She did more for me in 3 sessions than numerous medical doctors did during that time. At the end of the first session with Tammy my pain level was relieved from a 10 down to a 3. After 6 weeks (of no sessions) I continue to feel better."

Shoulder pain, sciatica, hand numbness

"My experience with suction cup therapy {cupping} has been a good one. I was apprehensive about the whole unknown (to me) process. The whole process is a communication between your therapist and yourself. May take more than one session, but this is very helpful for flexibility and mobility."

Migraines, neck pain, dizziness

"I have known Tammy since we were in middle school, so when I saw her post a few weeks ago on May 31st about "cupping" and what it may help relieve, I was intrigued. I knew she was a licensed therapist and frankly I trusted her. I have been having migraines daily since the beginning of March this year and medicine wasn't helping. I had felt so bad that there were times I was dizzy and sick at my stomach and losing my balance, which resulted in several falls, the last one which resulted in x-rays and MRIs. I thought I was doing a little better: changes to my migraine medicine, shots in my back, etc., but these only lasted briefly and then as soon as I would move the wrong way, or when I picked up a case of water at the store, my neck and back hurt so bad, I could honestly hardly stand to turn my head, look down, look up, etc. It was awful. I felt like a mean bear with a wounded paw. I believe my family thought so, too!
So, I decided to message Tammy. She got me right in and we went over what has worked in the past and what has not worked and all the short term solutions. She explained the "cupping" process and how instead of breaking up the knots in my body she was going to work on pulling them out, so to speak, in order to give me better range of motion and free up and to potentially release the tension on the muscles and tendons that were gripping so tight and just causing tension knots in my neck and back.
Immediately, I could move my arms around to my back and up and down and out to my sides and, for once in a long time, I was able to turn my head and neck again without feeling instant pain and like I was going to be sick. It made a significant improvement that day and has continued to do so. Tammy definitely has been a godsend to me! I couldn't have made it through some very important milestones with my family these last few weeks without having done this. I was absolutely miserable and when I left, I felt so much better. I highly recommend this "cupping" therapy...it does work! Thank you, Tammy, because it has truly made a difference and immensely changed my outlook!"
